Travel Information
The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) is located in Dalang Town of Dongguan City, Guangdong Province,
China. As the geometric center of
Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, CSNS is about 120 km from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, 50 km from
Shenzhen Baoan Airport and 100 km from Hong Kong International Airport. And the venue, which is the Royal
Garden Hotel, is only 10 km away from CSNS.
Travel information
Before visiting China
To stay connected in China, it is recommended that participants setup international roaming in advance before
visiting China. Please note that from past experiences, roaming will connect you to your home country’s
internet instead of local network, and as such some Chinese apps may not work as intended.
Please note that payment option will be limited to cash, as e-banking in China are limited to Wechat Pay or
AliPay, which will need to be linked to a bank account opened in China. This will limit the last mile
transport option to taxis only, as coaches and ride-share apps will need to be paid using WePay or AliPay.
Please also prepare CNY of multiple denominations, as the taxis are not likely to be able to
provide change
due to the rarity of cash payments.
Transportation from the airport to the Hotel/Venue
Please display ‘东莞帝豪花园酒店’ to your taxi driver to show the intended destination.
Please also show the driver "请帮我开发票，谢谢" to let the driver konow that you would like to
have a receipt for taxi.
From the Hong Kong International Airport
High-Speed Train from Hong Kong
Take a taxi from Hong Kong International Airport to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station (please search for
Hkwestkowloon on the railway website). Then take the
high-speed train to Dongguannan Station. After you
arrive, please take a taxi to the Royal Garden International Hotel (a reminder to use cash, and bring
plenty of change).

Ferry Transfer from Hong Kong International Airport
Sky Pier Port at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) provides speedy ferry services for transfer
passengers to Dongguan Hu men (虎门) Port. After you arrive at the Hu men Port, you can call a taxi to the
local hotel (a reminder to use cash, and bring plenty of change). For the latest ferry schedule and
ticketing arrangement, please check with the ferry
operators.
From the Shenzhen Baoan Airport and the Guangzhou Baiyun Airport
While both Baoan Airport and Baiyun Airport offer long range bus services to Dongguan, it may not be possible
to use these services as payment are made through WePay and AliPay. Therefore, it is recommended that
attendees take a taxi directly from the Airports to the Hotel (a reminder to use cash, and bring plenty of
change). Please note enough cash are necessary due to the difficulties of using electronic payments.
Shuttle Bus Service
Alternatively, the Local Organisation Committee has decided to provide pick-up service in all the three local airports (Guangzhou Baiyun, Shenzhen Bao’an and Hong Kong Intl’ airports). We would encourage using either the GZ Baiyun airport or the SZ Bao’an airport since it is much easier to send shuttle buses there. The bus schedules will be decided based on the flight information you provide.
From the current results of the survey, we have scheduled shuttle buses to Guangzhou Baiyun Intl’ and Shenzhen
Bao’an Intl’ as shown below. We estimate the travel time to be 1.5 hours to and from Guangzhou airport, and 1
hour for Shenzhen airport, subject to road conditions. The pick-up and drop-off locations will be announced on
a later date. We will be increasing the number of shuttle buses as the demand arise. As such, we would like to
encourage our delegates to please fill out the survey sent to you by email.

Delegate airport pick-up guides
We will have volunteers to assist picking up the delegates of AOCNS 2023, courtesy of China Spallation Neutron
Source staff and students. The volunteers will hold signs that will contain the AOCNS 2023 conference logo and
your name, so please be on a lookout for our volunteers so that they can guide you to your transportation.
Please see the details below for specific information for Hong Kong international airport, Shenzhen Bao’an
international airport and Guangzhou Baiyun international airport.
Hong Kong international airport
Hong Kong international airport will have two exits into the arrival hall, A arrival hall and B arrival hall.
Our volunteers will wait for you on the appropriate arrival hall using the arrival information provided by the
airport. Please approach our volunteers as you see them, and they will walk with you to guide you to your
vehicle.

Guangzhou Baiyun international airport
There are two terminals in Guangzhou Baiyun international airport, T1 and T2. T1 will have three exits (W1, W2
and W3), and T2 will have one exit for international flights, and one for domestic flights.
For delegates exiting from T1, please make your way to the W1 exit. For delegates exiting from T2, please make
your way to the international arrivals exit. Please approach our volunteers which will be waiting at these
exits, and they will walk with you to guide you to your vehicle.

Shenzhen Bao’an international airport
The arrival hall for Bao’an international will be at basement one (-1 floor from ground floor) in terminal T3.
Please meet with the waiting volunteer there, who will walk you to the main exit of terminal T3 to your
vehicle.
