The Asia-Oceania Conference on Neurtron Scattering (AOCNS) is a platform that brings together scientists and students in the Asia-Oceania region and beyond who use (or would like to use) neutron scattering facilities to share related knowledge and discuss the latest developments and results. The conference covers all scientific areas of neutron scattering including fundamental physics, material science, magnetism, chemistry, disordered systems, biology, soft matter, surface/interface science and instrumentation. The scientific program consists of plenary lectures, invited lectures, poster presentations and AONSA Prize lectures. This AOCNS plays a complementary role in the tripolar regional neutron conferences, along with the American Conference on Neutron Scattering (ACNS) and the European Conference on Neutron Scattering (ECNS). AOCNS generally takes place every four years and was first held in 2011 at Tsukuba, Japan. AOCNS2023, the fourth one in its series, will be held by Spallation Neutron Source Science Center in Dongguan, China.

About AONSA

The Asia-Oceania Neutron Scattering Association (AONSA) founded in 2008 is an affiliation of neutron scattering societies and committees which directly represents users in the Asia-Oceania Region. The purposes of the Association are to provide a platform for discussion and a focus for action in neutron scattering and related topics in the Region, including organizing the quadrennial Asia-Oceania Conference on Neutron Scattering (AOCNS).

Chinese Neutron Scattering Society
Chinese Neutron Scattering Society (CNSS) was formally established as a branch of the Chinese Physical Society in 2012. As a member of AONSA, CNSS is also an academic organization of Chinese scientists and users who engaged in the research and application of neutron-scattering sciences. At present, there are three large neutron scattering facilities in China, i.e., China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS), China Advanced Research Reactor (CARR) and China Mianyang Research Reactor (CMRR), and about 500-600 Chinese research groups (more than 2,200 users) working actively with neutron scattering. CNSS has organized various conferences and schools since 2012. In 2023, CNSS will hold two international conferences on neutron scattering, ICANS XXIV (International Collaboration on Advanced Neutron Sources) conference in November and AOCNS2023 (Asia-Oceania Conference on Neutron Scattering) in December.
